To the department: a shared calibration lot explains why three instruments might drift in the same direction. It does not explain why they would drift into the future by exactly the same interval, at three unconnected sites, months apart. If this were instrument error, correcting the calibration should have stopped it. It did not. I recommend we continue treating this as an observed phenomenon rather than a maintenance issue, while Dr. Achterberg's audit continues in parallel.
